Ever since my final year at Pratt I've been obsessively interested in encaustic dipping. After dipping the blank, porous rives BFK in encaustic medium, the wax solidifies between the fibers of the paper which significantly increases the transparency of the substrate. My image is

Inspired by the work of Roger Dean, who made album covers in the late 1960's. I used to own a portfolio book of his work, and always admired his color work and environments. Other than that inspiration, it had been a long time since I had made a suicide print. In the end I had to use multiple block
